The impressive graphics are rich as you move through all of the skill levels. Great game, to bad its so rare!Best RPG for the Saturn, hands down! Now that is not saying much, however, I have been playing rpg's since the nes/sms. I love this game, got it 2 yrs ago for 200$, and it is a unique and great rpg! It is short for a rpg, I took my time and still beat it in under 30 hrs. However, the story and gameplay are top notch! Only rpg I prefer in story is Final Fantasy 6, love me Kefka!
Anywho, I only got this cause I was able to get it half off, 400 bills is hard to swallow(200 was hard enough). Yet, this game is great, combat is the highlight!
Duration is the weakness, you just want more! Great game, still hard to recommend for the price. One of my top 10 games of all time (and I know good games!)There is a lot of hype surrounding this game and having finished twice now (10 years apart) It's worth every penny. Sure by todays standards its not that pretty, but its the gameplay and story telling that really make this game shine. There is some debate as to its rarity - some 20K-30K NTSC US copies were produced - but what makes it rarer is that the source code to make the game has not been recovered meaning that you are not likely to see this on PSN or XBL anytime soon!.
Still a very innovative RPGUsually, I don´t like a very combat focused RPG, but this one is combat focused and still very innovative. This game deserved being played for his unique combat system.pros-Unique combat system, even if compared with nowdays games.-Great graphics for his time.-Good story-Sometimes there is puzzles inside battleCons-Story is very linear, like most of japanese RPG-I think that they try to create Azel like a very hot woman, but it didn´t work:P-The main character is a loser without his dragon, at least until CD 3.
Contents.Premise The Panzer Dragoon series takes place on an unspecified post-apocalyptic planet where the people compete for land, resources, and the technology of the Ancients. The ‘Ancients’ is the generic name given to the people that once controlled a world-spanning, hyper-advanced civilization thousands of years before the start of the Panzer Dragoon series of games. The Ancients were able to create monsters either for war use or practical uses. These creatures survived the downfall of the Ancients and are one of the main enemies in the series.
A mysterious cataclysm, hinted at as a terrible war during the course of the series, would spell the downfall of this civilization and nearly destroy the world, leaving the survivors to eke out a bleak existence among the blasted remains in the ensuing millennia. Eventually, the Ancients and their works would gain a sort of 'godlike' respect, and a horrific regard, among some people as they passed into legend. The remnants of these technologies are used in the development of much of humanity's own machinery, weaponry and vehicles, such as the unusual floating ships which are a staple of the series. A faction called The Empire have collected and used weapons from the Ancient Age to gain dominance of the continent.Games Release timeline.
